1. Punishment for those that gave away their pigs. Anet message: "Hoard more, give less".
2. Reward for getting all ingredients not proportional to the effort of getting them. There are only 3 spawn points for the Ring of Fire Nightmares. 2 Nightmares behind a lot of Mursaat, and 4 more behind more Mursaat, and Ether Seal and some Drakes. I made the mission 30 times. 30! What did I got? 5 Igneous Spider legs. No crests, no remians, no webs. When I found that the reward for all that wasted time would be 15 points towards the Party Animal title and 16 bags, it was the biggest dissapointment I ever had in the entire game. Anet message: "Ha-ha!"

Next ime I'll just make the quests, get the Fortunes and go back to my rutine.

Possibole ways to fix this:
- Ingredients required should be from level 1..10 monsters. That way it won't be so a waste of time.
- Fix the drop rates of the ingredients.
- Add a boss for each creature that drops the ingredient and make all bosses always drop at least one trophi to one party member.
- Make the reward proportional to the effort.

The only good things were that you can make all 6 quests with each character and that people would able to get the same mask than last year.
Why i giving the same mask a good thing? Because now there are 4 masks that were available again after and event, giving more reasons to add a way to get older masks for new players.

In case someone from Anet actually looks at these, I will take the time to tell them what I think.

I like the festival. I did all the quests multiple times. I got 500 lunar fortunes which netted me 2 rats one for me and one for my brother who had 250 fortunes and got none. We each had enough pigs for one Celestial Pig but that was all. I like both the new minis they are very nice. I think out fo 750 fortunes we should have gotten more than 2 rats. I was mad that when I got a rat I was cursed and could not see the rat appear. Could we have a way to turn that effect off please! My eyesight is bad enough as is with out you making seeing any harder.

I have been in multiple districts where they did not complete the dishes. And this is very disapointing I wonder how many actually did it. One, the reward for giving an ingredient is so stingy no one will give a naga hide to the chef. These rewards have to make players want to go out and get the stuff. Maybe if you got 10 gift bags and 10 lunar fortunes and 10 festival tickets it would be worth it to find the stuff. I had about 14 of the Items but ran out fast and no one else had any. Also you could announce earlier what we need to get so people are aware and can save it. Two, the drop rates could be increased the two weeks before so we have a chance to get it. Come on Smoking Remains I only found two pop up groups that have it in the RoF mission. Kraken Eyes be real.

Next the crate of fire works. Pretty lame. Just reworked the fireworks you can get in the Owned Cities. People thought the fireworks were so lame they were not going to give stuff to the chefs. Same mask as last year. Did not like it then and don't like it now. It seems like you felt you had to do the event but wanted to do as little as possible it get it done. I can cope with Wintersday only getting 2 hats this year but at least they were new, and I know you had plenty of designs you could have used. If your going to repeat why not let us pick which one we want and give us a chit we can use at the hat keeper to make a hat we missed.

I don't think trading 5 pigs for one celestial was a good trade. I think 3 would have been more fair. I think you should refund 2 mini pigs to everyone who traded 5. I'm tried of every thing having to be rare and worth millions of dollars. I think Anet should do the Mini Madness every month. I PAID for the game I should be able to get the minis.

I like the new title. I got no problem with this if you don't want to do it you don't have to, and now you can sell your fireworks if you want to make some money.

The problem is once you do something you have to keep making it better or people will be disapointed. Same as last year just will not do.

Hmm, yeah i've not really had the spirit to enjoy this event either.
For the mini pig you need 5 mini pigs i believe? I'm just leaving that as i only have 1 and i'm not much more interested in getting it either.
I've been at rollerbeetle all weekend, really no-lifed it xD Spent 450 lunar tokens for fortunes, got myself a rat and some party items.

Sold the party items, kept on rollerbeetling and now selling the tokens 100gea. That's the only positive point for me, i've gone from zero to 65k just from having fun lolz. Gonna keep playing rollerbeetle (still trying to get in top 100 xD) and attend the finales to rack up some consumables.
Oh yeah and i also got the mask, which i missed last year, so i'm happy with that too, i understand the feeling for people who already had it though :/

Events are turning into money sinks, which i don't really like. They're drifting away from the original idea of the game.

When it comes to this game I don't expect much so for me the event was fine. Got myself a celestial rat and celestial pig and can't really complain. The mask is the same as last year which is fine. Personally I think Anet could have made the crate of fireworks have unlimited uses for all the trouble it takes to gather those collectible drops for the dinner.

Most of my evaluation is in this post:
http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...&postcount=121

I'm actually mad at the fact that the finale reward was 5 non-reusuable fireworks used in guild halls instead of the celestial rat mini, the nerf on lucky hochei, the biggest ripoff with the celestial pig (and possibly the biggest ripoff made by ANet ever. why? considering the involvement of discontinued minipets that costed like 40k each), and the fact that you can only get the rat via lunar fortunes which has a ridiculously rarer drop than elite tomes ).

the nerf on lunar tokens farming is due to the stupid loot scale introduced by ANet.

And I was 100x madder after opening up 165 fortunes (15 from hochei, rest spent with lunar fortune trader after releasing they nerfed hochei) and I still didn't get a celestial rat.

1. 300 lunar tokens - no rat (guess no luck for me in this year)
2. ~12h wasted to get all ingredients ( 2h farm to get single Guardian Moss ) to get fireworks, bleh

to sum it up i feel 'bit' disappointed

Yeah, kind of an insult, the big surprise in the end is worth 3 sparklers. Think about the extra red bags you get which is more of a chance to get sparklers.

People like you all ruin this game. Whine, whine, whine. Bitch, moan, complain. Shut up and appreciate that Anet even takes the time to offer you this in the first place.

So far in the event I've gotten:

120k+ gold
Rank 2 Lucky and Unlucky

I'm pleased. I don't care about masks. I don't care about minipets. With that out of the way, this event rocks!

I cannot lie... due to the mini-pig madness i get a lot of cash (dont wanna put the right $$)...
but this event..... doesnt work, it's just... dissapointing...

You (english ppl) just say it's copypasted from the last year festival but... you at least get a updated festival. we get this:

Note: "Gran cerdo celestial" ~ "Great celestial PIG"

And I got a "Celestial pig minipet" from someone's 2008 fortunes (looks like a rat but Anet just tell me that it's a pig, on spanish)...

I dont see the problem of repeating the same quest with new characters.... we dont get so much cash, not so much fortunes, not so much exp (just deleted the character after doing it :S) pointless.

Minirat doesnt appear on my XXX opened fortunes and any of my guildies told me the same.. (as I expect% of drop was near 0. well 0 is a percentage!).

I dint go into DA or BeRac this year cause of the cheating / boring of this 2 places. I tried both some times last year and this time i wont even enter.

Mmm i was happy when someone (well , was Gaile) told "us" that the mask will be given NOT at the end of the event but during the event to use & have fun with it. I was soo happy that I told my bro, my guildies and anyone I know that hasnt the mask (even when I know that it will be the SAME). What we got? Same mask, same at-the-end mask.

I dont think that crates of fieworks are so fun.... but well it is a volatile item.... no more, no less that the things they promise. I was waiting for something more.... i dunno but a better thing (re-survivor as said before is great, change sex for 2-5mins is fun, ....).

As i said on "minipig woes".... looks like they want to kill all the pigs to get meat and doesnt have a better way to tell us.

Lag affected the entire GW world too.... so .... if you doesnt spent the last year event weekend outside from GW... you may surely be dissapointed with this one.

Yeah, its true that you can get lucky/unlucky rank but.... its a AFK title... just playing at the 9rings... and I dont know but if I play a MMORPG is not to be AFK... maybe my opinion. And.... what worth it has for the new players? They cannot buy the tickets needed to rank 1! (i think that its a number between 20-40k spent into tickets)....

This year fortunes where loot-scaling affected, I farmead almost anything to try. Secret lair of snowmen, Raptor nestlings, vaettirs, Moss dragon, termites, nephilas,... even try a mo/w in NM to kill termites in great number (i get bored)... I got less than 10.
Cakes and so other event items just dropped a lot in that zones... so this year this has been.... "retouched".... i think

As all the new things anet does (polar bear alarm, alarm,...) looks like rich are now the richest (and beyond!!) and poor people... doesnt get more :P.

It was a great event because, by definition of the addition of some new content on top of last year's stuff, it was no "worse" then last years event in any way shape or form.

It is like getting $100 for Christmas one year, and the next year you only get $101 (only a small addition like the 2nd new mini and the fireworks display) and then complaining about it.

People just like to QQ about anything and everything.

Very fun and enjoyable event. Playing GW for 3 years, same old things are still great.

Good job arena.net.

I'm going to take this whole rant a bit personally. (it's just the way I am today)

There is nothing wrong with this event and I can say that even though I am by no means a "rich" player.

Last year I busted my butt to go get all those ingredients only to watch all the afk ringers get to benefit from my effort. (those who have gone looking for that loot know how long it takes to find it all) But I got a pig.

The guild I joined up with briefly at this time last year were sponsoring a district and encouraged attendance so I ended up with 12 of those oinkers. AND I GAVE AWAY 8 OF THEM LAST YEAR.

But more importantly, I got some satisfaction from doing something for the community as a whole. This year I went out and gathered the good again. Farmed for what seemed like a couple of full days but I got them all. AND I MADE OVER 35K gathering that and doing the event quests.

So I took my full set of 9 account characters and ran the quests yesterday and gathered a pile of tickets. got two rats (AND GAVE ONE AWAY)

between this and wintersday gear (and a bit of halloween leftovers) I think I'm close to party animal title range.

The mask is the same... so what I normally just make a new one at the event anyhow and I like this one so no biggie. (makes my very scrawny rit look like Mayor McCheese)

I spent the finales with a group from a different forum with a more positive attitude about things and am enjoying the conversations.

end of the day I got some guild hall fireworks for a player that hates joining guilds (which I will probably sell or more likely give away to the group that was hosting the first finale event as a thank you)

Where does that leave me... with 4 regular pigs. nope, used that money I earned to buy 2 and get myself a celestial AND keep an old one.

You want to whine about how the event bites, try going out and participating heavily first instead of standing on a ring all day.

Horrible event, Horrible lag in roller beetle arenas, raced 150 times to get ONE good race and a score of 473 (trible echo SB LUCK!!) only to have it bumped off by one of Yuri's top scores. cause we all know how important it is to have 30 spots on the top 100... Uh what else.. oh yeah. .same hat? what the hell? Crappy crate of fireworks.... Gotta be worse event ever, I've deffently been to alot better.

I enjoyed the festival, here are my thoughts.

Nerfing the token farming: Not really, getting to level 5 takes bearly 30mins, i've managed to get several stacks and actually feel like i've worked for them rather than the easy ride of last year.

Less farming, better prices on the market.

No mini, i'm a little sad that theres not a mini at the end of the event but after the influx of pigs from last year who can blame them? It would just be another worthless item that everyone has.

Pigs. Everyone complains that they threw away all their pigs - i did too, luckily im not enamoured by the celestial ones. The main complaint i keep hearing here is that people threw them out for storage space and are annoyed that they werent prewarned to keep them. Well - what about all the people that suffered with no storage space because of all these pigs? I think its nice that they are rewarded for their hoarding of useless crap :P

Repeated hat: I have nothing good to say about this. It does strike me as lazy although i dislike judging how people do their jobs as i generally think anet try hard to keep us happy.

Firework crates: Different, something nice for guilds to enjoy as a whole, good for guild partys and celebrations - would maybe have been nice to use them in towns or outside but nvm :P

Theres my 2 pence :P (english XD)
